The Hungarian Multicultural Center (HMC) provides up to four emerging-to-mid career international artists with an opportunity to live and work in Budapest each year for periods up to three months. Since the HMC’s launch in 1990 more than 600 international artists, writers, musicians and curators participated in the residency program, seminars, artist talk, collaborations and exhibitions. In 2007, HMC’s primary location has moved from Balatonfured/Csopak to Budapest. Artists at the residency have a chance to engage in an international environment, learn new skills, and to get to know a vast network of art professionals.

At the HMC each artist and curator is provided with working space, and free wireless internet service.
A residency at HMC is typically 2 weeks to one months, although artists and curators can apply for up to one year.

There will also be space open for non-participating partners at reduced rates.
